On IMVU, your member ID is a unique identifier that differentiates you from everybody else.

You will need to know your member ID to share the link to your IMVU shop (for the classic website view), and for anything that needs to differentiate you from every other IMVU user, such as file sales where licenses are per IMVU account, and when applying for various Creator opportunities (showcases, contests, etc.).

While you can change your alias/displayed name an unlimited number of times (picture below), your member ID cannot be changed at all:

To clarify, all the following terms refer to the exact same unique identifier:

User ID = Member ID = Customer ID = Shop ID = Avatar ID = Member Number

To find your unique User ID, use the classic IMVU homepage/IMVU classic Website: https://www.imvu.com/catalog/web_index.php

Here’s how to get to do it from IMVU Next:

There’s multiple ways to check it:

1. Hovering/Clicking your avatar name (points 1 & 3 from the above image)

If you hover over (hold your mouse without clicking) your avatar name, in the bottom left part (Chrome/Mozilla), you will see a link ending with a number – that number is your Member ID / Customer ID.

2. Clicking My Account from the classic IMVU Website:

3. Clicking on your profile photo – this will open up your IMVU Avatar Card

Click on “Visit My Shop” and it will redirect you to your unique shop URL (only your products are shown in this link).

Note: If you have not signed up for the Creator Agreement, you will not have the link available to see your shop.

In your browser navigator, you will see a number in the link – that number is your unique member ID.

While knowing your IMVU ID is not mandatory, it will definitely come in handy for IMVU creators.

Personally, I bookmarked the IMVU Classic Website and that’s the default view I have when I access the browser version of IMVU – it’s very handy and crucial as a creator to have easy access to the Classic Website. I usually click my avatar photo, visit my shop, and get my member number from the shop link – it’s not the most handy option, but it is my most common way of doing it.

Happy creating!
